"Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you-like music to the musician or Marxism to the Communist-or else it is nothing" - F. Scott Fitzgerald
Note from the Author:
My poems aren't difficult, they aren't really deep, they don't always rhyme, and sometimes they might not even make sense, but that is what my writing is like. What I write is whatever I am feeling at the time, whether it is about my shoes, or about how gloomy the rain is; the way i write varies. It can be funny or cool, or even personal, but no matter what I never seem to just stick with one way of writing my poems, they are always different. For me poems are a way of expressing how you feel, no matter how it sounds, writing poems is a chance to let yourself go and let you inner thoughts take over the page.
Ode To My Nikes:

Sonnet: My Life of Lies
"has my life really become full of lies to please the people who will not accept truth that was there is now fog in ones eyes must I follow your strict and dull concept shall I become someone who I am not quickly looking away hiding my need as I gaze in to the eyes of my want for what have I been trying to succeed I just want to be what is in my heart is it acceptance of them or just fear everlasting love that will never part but what I want is what I can not bear has my life really become full of lies truth that was there is now fog in ones eyes"
Memory Poem:
"rubber ducky your the one...you make bathtime lots of fun..." running around as the song hits my ears and fills my body with a joyful feeling, of wanting to dance and not stop, the heat slowly becoming more and more overpowering, i rush to my escape and i jump..SLLPPPAAASSSHHH, the cool liquid runs over my body quickly soothing the spots, that were once burning from the intense heat, my stomach is becoming jealous, now making loud grumbles and calls to get my attention, I am not rude, and do not want to ignore my stomach pleading calls, my feet feeling a new rush of texture as I start walking towards my destination, the concrete that was once hot is cooling of as my wet feet makes contact, holding the crisp green paper-like substance in my hand, knowing this is going to end the pleads of my now angered stomach, as I purchase the sweet treat the doughy and sugary mixture attacks my nostrils, leaving it searching for more of the delightful smel,l as the sugary treat passes my lips my tongue screams with such happiness, as my stomach collects piece by piece i sit back now satisfied, ready to explore some more of this magical place, yea sesame place is the place to be.
Robert Frost:
The Road Not Taken:
"Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear; Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-- I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference."
Analysis:
So in this poem he is talking about having two choices (roads), and deciding about which one he will choose. he talks about how the first choice everyone is choosing and it looks more promising. And the second choice no one has chosen and it looks pretty rough. even though he see what the roads look like he still doesn't know where each road leads to which makes this choice even more difficult. But finally in the end he chooses the one that nobody has, and it makes a huge difference for him.
To Earthward:
"Love at the lips was touch As sweet as I could bear; And once that seemed too much; I lived on air
That crossed me from sweet things, The flow of--was it musk From hidden grapevine springs Downhill at dusk?
I had the swirl and ache From sprays of honeysuckle That when they're gathered shake Dew on the knuckle.
I craved strong sweets, but those Seemed strong when I was young; The petal of the rose It was that stung.
Now no joy but lacks salt, That is not dashed with pain And weariness and fault; I crave the stain
Of tears, the aftermark Of almost too much love, The sweet of bitter bark And burning clove.
When stiff and sore and scarred I take away my hand From leaning on it hard In grass and sand,
The hurt is not enough: I long for weight and strength To feel the earth as rough To all my length."
Analysis:
This poem is kind of about the contrast between love and pain. Throughout the whole poem the way he describes how he feels varies between sweetness and bittersweet. For example in the first stanze he said "Love at the lips was touchAs sweet as I could bear;.." and goes on to say how this feeling made him feel on air but then he goes on to describe it as a bitter bark and burning cloves. He is decribing the different feelings he gets out of love, pain, sweetness, pleasure, ect.
Bond and Free:
"Love has earth to which she clings With hills and circling arms about— Wall within wall to shut fear out. But Thought has need of no such things, For Thought has a pair of dauntless wings.
On snow and sand and turf, I see Where Love has left a printed trace With straining in the world’s embrace. And such is Love and glad to be. But Thought has shaken his ankles free.
Thought cleaves the interstellar gloom And sits in Sirius’ disc all night, Till day makes him retrace his flight, With smell of burning on every plume, Back past the sun to an earthly room.
His gains in heaven are what they are. Yet some say Love by being thrall And simply staying possesses all In several beauty that Thought fares far To find fused in another star."
Analysis:
I believe this poem is talking a bit about fearing love, and how people push it away because of how they fear it. In this line that say"Where Love has left a printed traceWith straining in the world’s embrace." he is saying how love is everywhere in the world but is straining to stay here because nobody will keep holding on to it.
